The old files server is nearly full, it has been running for 4.5 years, we had added 3 disks to it but now it full again. the warranty can not be continued due to Dell policy: they offer warranty no more than 6 years.

we need a new file server, Dell PowerEdge is the choice, this week i booked a file server with 10 disks and Suse Linux Enterprise 64Bit OEM OS.

the new server will arrive in next week. This is a powerful new file server with 2 Intel quad-core cpus, 10 SCSI disks and 3 years gold service. it offers 3 TB storage on 2 Raid 5 arrays,

the copy/save speed will be at least 2 times faster than the old file server. together with the 1000M cable, users will feel very satisfied. and i need find someone help me put it into the server rack as it also lot havier than the old one.
